West Chester, Ohio – The 5th Annual Southwest Ohio GiveCamp was held October 17-19, 2014 at the Miami University Voice of America Learning Center. Over 130 people participated in the two and a half days of GiveCamp. Seventy-eight volunteers donated almost 2,000 hours of labor valued over $200,000 to create software projects for thirteen non-profits.  The volunteers created new websites, developed databases, and published new mobile applications.

The thirteen non-profits benefitting from the weekend long event are headquartered all over southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky. Those non-profits included.

Southwest Ohio GiveCamp has always been a family friendly event. This year’s event included the first ever Kid’s Code Camp. The Kid’s Code Camp was a two hour class taught by the non-profit Pay It Forward. The class taught the children the basics of computer programming.  It allowed the children of the volunteers to learn a little bit about what their parents were doing.
