Camp Joy
Mission:
Since 1938, Camp Joy has been providing outdoor experiential
programs for inner-city children from the Greater Cincinnati area.
Camp Joy's mission is "helping people grow and succeed through
life-long, experience-based learning." The mission of Camp Joy has
not wavered over the last 74 years in providing quality programs
for those in need. Camp Joy was one of the first
racially-integrated camping programs in our region and in 1951, it
was incorporated as a nonprofit organization. In 1959, a 315-acre
property in Clarksville, Ohio was purchased to provide a permanent
location. Programs have been expanded to include outdoor education
programs for schools and leadership programs for all ages. The camp
experience has grown to serve those with a variety of challenges
including economic, medical, special needs, at risk, and foster
children.

some of Cincinnati's poorest neighborhoods to achieve a better way
of life for everyone. They have been effective because they unite
members across lines of race, income and class to work on issues
together. CUFA's mission is to provide a powerful platform from
which members can accomplish the agenda of safe, healthy and
affordable communities for everyone.

accessible at anytime to help nurture the well-being of these
at-risk individuals.
